Hailing from Germany, Alex Bau (Mr. Gringo Techno a.k.a the Bavarian Techno Machine) has been a regular contributor to the techno scene as a producer, DJ, and label manager. With more than 10 years of experience producing music, he achieved the reputation of someone who knows what he's doing. He first started spinning long sets as a resident DJ at Libella in Germany, which was also a home to DJ Hell in the 80's. Founding his own record label, Toneman back in 2000, he also released his solo productions under labels such as Chris Liebing's CLR and the Montreal based label, Default Recordings and Credo. After numerous releases through different labels, Alex's debut-album, Connected (2004) drew the immediate attention of many high class DJs like Chris Liebing, Pascal FEOS, and Good Groove to name a few. He released a few 12" EPs through the Zenit record label which has been the platform for DJs and producers like Marco Carola, Adam Beyer, The Advent, Gaetano Parisio, and many more. 

Mr. Gringo Techno 또는 Bavarian Techno Machine라는 이름으로도 잘 알려져 있는 독일 출신의 테크노 프로듀서 Alex Bau. 그는 프로듀서, DJ로 활동할 뿐만 아니라 레이블을 운영하며 테크노 신의 발전을 위해 지속적으로 활동해왔다. 10년 이상의 프로듀싱 경력을 자랑하는 Alex Bau는 80년대 DJ Hell의 주 무대이기도 했던 독일 남부의 Libella에서 레지던트 디제이로 처음 활동을 시작하였다. 2000년 Alex Bau는 Toneman이라는 레코드 레이블을 직접 설립하였으며, Chris Liebing의 CLR이나 몬트리올의 Default Recordings 그리고 Credo를 통해 수많은 EP 및 Album을 발매하기도 하였다. 2004년 Toneman을 통해 발표된 그의 첫 데뷔 앨범 Connected는 Chris Liebing, Pascal FEOS, Good Groove와 같은 수많은 DJ들의 주목을 받았다. 또한, 그는 Marco Carola, Adam Beyer, The Advent, Gaetano Parisio와 같은 프로듀서들이 속해 있는 Zenit 레코드 레이블을 통해 발매하기도 하였다.
